About John Grund.
John earned his masters degree in Clinical Social Work from New York University and is a licensed clinical social worker. He has received postgraduate training in Family Systems, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Gestalt oriented group work. John has received training in Mindfulness from UMASS General Hospital’s Mindfulness Stress Reduction Program, Stanford’s Forgiveness Project, Tibet House, and a number of trainings offered through the Omega Institute.
John is also a certified international Project Adventure trainer. John has been facilitating workshops in Adventure Based Counseling for the past twenty years. As an Adventure practitioner, John has created programs for a variety of educational, community, mental health and corporate programs utilizing the approach of Adventure as the method of creating change and growth.
John has worked in the New Jersey public education system as both a social worker and student assistance counselor for the past 21 years. John’s educational experience has been in both urban and suburban schools and in alternative as well as mainstream settings. He is currently employed by the Somerset Hills school district in Bernardsville.
